Electrical Technician Job Description

This job description outlines the key responsibilities, skills, and qualifications required for the Electrical Technician role at Wrightbus. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing practical hands-on assistance to electrical engineers in new product development, current contract fulfillment, and departmental housekeeping.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist electrical engineers in preparing vehicles or vehicle systems for testing and participate in testing processes as required.
  • Develop test set-ups, including harnesses, software programming interfaces, and Vector configurations.
  • Support environmental and Homologation testing at designated test houses.
  • Conduct design of experiment testing and undertake sample disposition testing.
  • Program replacement control modules for in-service vehicles and assist with fault diagnosis on prototype vehicles.

Requirements
  • Experience in an engineering environment with a strong focus on problem-solving techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to take on business travel and overtime as required.
  • Possession of relevant qualifications such as HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
