Job Title: Financial Planning Analyst

We are seeking a skilled Financial Planning Analyst to support the Principal Accountant in undertaking an annual budget review exercise. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the next financial year's budget and informing the medium-term financial planning strategy.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in local government finance, with a strong understanding of funding announcements and changes. They will also have expertise in maintaining financial models to assess their impact on the council's overall funding.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the production of the annual revenue budget for the authority in conjunction with service areas.
  • Assisting with detailed technical analysis of funding announcements and changes.
  • Maintaining financial models to assess their impact on the council's overall funding.

Requirements:

  • 3 GCSE passes including Maths & English.
  • AAT fully qualified or equivalent and/or experience requirements as set out below.

Experience:

  • 2 years local government finance experience.
  • Experience of using based financial systems within a large complex organisation.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum.
