We are currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Plant Manager to join our UK team based in Sheffield, UK.

About the role

This pivotal position will enable us to execute our operational strategy, continuous improvement plans and long-term growth strategy. As Plant Manager, you'll be responsible for all elements of operations including: supply chain, production, quality, maintenance, facilities, CI, EHS and CX at the Sheffield Manufacturing site.

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure the best possible return and levels of service across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Inventory.
  • Drive operational excellence initiatives to reduce costs while improving efficiencies and customer service.
  • Lead, manage and motivate the operations team in delivering consistently high standards of safety, product quality, operational excellence, and customer service.
  • Develop and execute the manufacturing strategy to maximise operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Purchasing, Product Management and Quality teams to resolve issues affecting customer service and performance.
  • Inspire manufacturing teams to challenge existing processes and implement sound solutions.
  • Minimise costs through optimal utilisation of material, plant, equipment, staff and consumable purchases.
  • Plan and develop budget figures and investment plans, monitoring progress throughout the year.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering or equivalent.
  • A proven track record of leading & implementing improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing processes & materials used in metal processing & fabrication industries.
  • A good understanding of ERP systems and ideally SAP.
  • Demonstrable Operations Management experience of running a high-volume manufacturing operation.
  • The ability to challenge conventional methodology and deliver new ways of working in a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
