As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic vision and leadership for our Fire and Rescue Service, developing and embedding a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior executive to lead one of the country's biggest and most progressive Fire and Rescue Services. As Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing strategic leadership and direction for the Fire and Rescue Service
  • Developing and implementing a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including Fire Authority Members, trade unions, and external agencies
  • Driving transformation and change within the Fire and Rescue Service
  • Ensuring the safety and protection of the public through effective risk management and incident response

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Significant experience at CFO/CEO level, preferably within the Fire Service or a similar sector
  • Proven ability to lead at Chief Executive level, with a track record of driving transformation and change
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of good governance principles and a commitment to our people promises
  • Ability to apply innovative approaches to meet the challenges of a transformational Fire and Rescue Service
