Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team at NERC - the Natural Environment Research Council, to investigate health inequalities in the food system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver place-based, solution-focused interventions to address dietary health inequalities in the UK food system.
  • Collaborate with at least one stakeholder organisation, such as government, business, or the third sector, to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Conduct interdisciplinary research to understand the complex relationships between food systems, health, and inequality.
  • Develop and manage projects to achieve the desired outcomes, working closely with project co-leads and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant field, such as nutrition, public health, or environmental science.
  • Experience in research and project management, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement effective interventions.
