Job Summary

The Children's Therapy Services at Sirona care & health CIC identify, assess, support, and manage the health needs of children and young people aged 0-18 years, working closely with children and their families in health settings and family homes, as well as with education colleagues in early years and school Children's Therapy services cover Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire. Services are offered in various parts of these localities to facilitate easy access for families.

Main Duties of the Job

  • To practice as a highly specialist clinical practitioner, providing support, supervision, teaching, advice, and consultation across BNSSG.
  • To offer highly specialist clinical expertise within paediatric dysphagia and complex needs communication support, and to carry a highly specialist case load within this area.
  • To provide an outreach dysphagia assessment and therapy service to children with complex needs in mainstream schools.
  • To provide dysphagia and communication assessment and therapy support as required to children in special schools within BNSSG.
  • To work closely with the multi-disciplinary team around the child.
  • To collaborate with the Clinical Lead for Dysphagia to manage the Speech & Language Therapy Service to children with Complex Needs.
  • To support the team through the transformation of their service, currently underway, in collaboration with Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy service transformations.
  • To have line management responsibilities of some staff and be responsible for holding team meetings.
  • To support the overview of locality performance on RTTs and EHCP targets.
  • To provide clinical and day-to-day leadership within Complex Needs (including dysphagia) and be a first point of contact for the team for queries and concerns.
