Job Summary

Network Rail is seeking an experienced professional to manage major transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and complex procurements. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in deal origination and execution, with strong negotiating skills and financial literacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and structure major transactions to achieve best value for money
  • Develop and execute business cases, liaising with stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes
  • Conduct detailed analysis to maximise value and identify and manage risks
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and report progress, and manage budgets

Requirements

  • Education to degree level in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • Successful experience working at a senior or professional level in a similar role
  • Demonstrable track record of successful mergers and acquisitions (M&A)
  • Proven successful history of structuring and executing complex transactions
  • Advanced financial modelling skills
  • Demonstrable experience in successful delivery of complex corporate finance transactions
  • Significant successful experience working in a complex matrix organisation
  • Successful experience in influencing senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communications and presentational skills
  • Strong demonstrable commercial focus
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Detailed knowledge of UK legislation, regulation and practice on government procurement laws, private financing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience of managing projects to successful conclusion
