We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lift and Escalator Inspector to join our team at Schindler Group. As a SAIS Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing new or modernized lifts and escalators/moving walks to ensure they meet the Schindler Acceptance and Inspection Standard (SAIS) and are safe for service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of lifts and escalators/moving walks to identify any defects or non-conformities.
  • Perform tests and measurements to verify compliance with SAIS requirements.
  • Document and record results, including any non-conformities or defects found.
  • Re-inspect lifts and escalators/moving walks after rectification of non-conformities.
  • Verify compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Provide technical support to installation teams and other stakeholders as required.
  • Assist with retrofit actions and ensure periodic inspections of existing installations.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in the lift and escalator industry as a qualified installation or maintenance engineer.
  • Extensive product knowledge and electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of safety components, safety relevant subsystems, and system related safety issues/hazards.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, and ability to access technical documentation.
