The Role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support the running of our new factory. The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving breakdowns, delivering maintenance, and driving improvements across the site and site services.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all maintenance across site services and site facilities.
- Attend to breakdowns onsite to minimize downtime of site plant and machinery.
- Carry out repairs to plant and equipment during production.
- Perform daily checks on all site services.
- Ensure compliance and optimum availability of core facility and utilities services, including steam boilers, air compressors, water treatment systems, and refrigeration systems.
- Deliver on plant uptime and maintenance KPIs through planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance.
- Maintain tools and equipment.
- Ensure all chemical and bacterial checks/tests of cooling tower water are performed as per internal schedule.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a maintenance or engineering role.
- Multi-skilled with formal engineering qualification to NVQ Level 3 or higher, in an electrical and/or mechanical subject, and/or nationally recognized apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.
- 17th or 18th Edition Certification.
- Proven experience of working within the food industry.
- Steam utilization and boiler house training certification.
- Health and Safety/Basic Food Hygiene training.
- Experience in managing contractors on-site.
- Proactive approach to fault finding and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Computer literate and working knowledge of MS Office and a PPM system.
- Ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings/manuals.
