Academic Mentor Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Academic Mentor to join our team at a reputable Secondary school and sixth form in South London.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils in small groups and 1:1 basis
  • Work alongside the SEN Lead to create plans for pupils' work programmes
  • Assist class teachers during lessons
  • Occasionally cover classes for short periods when the teacher needs to leave the room
Requirements:
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
  • UK Bachelor's Degree or an overseas equivalent
  • Experience as an Academic Mentor in UK schools or working knowledge of supporting children/young people
About the School:

An 'Outstanding' Secondary school and sixth form in South London, located near a Site of Nature Conservation Interest (SNCI).

It is a mixed, 11 - 18, non-selective school with a wide demographic of pupils and staff.
