Job Title: Lead Architect
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Architect to lead the design and development of antique wooden carved furniture and handicrafts. The ideal candidate will have a unique blend of experience in interior design, furniture design, and manufacturing processes, along with strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
This position requires extensive travel to the UK and US offices and our manufacturing facility in Saharanpur, India, where you will lead the design and production teams. You will be working in a startup environment, so only candidates with a visionary mindset, problem-solving attitude, and a positive outlook should apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the architectural design process for wooden carved furniture and handicrafts.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of product development from design, prototyping, to manufacturing.
- Collaborate closely with interior designers, carpenters, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and product quality.
- Ensure that design concepts are aligned with Healsways brand vision and international market standards.
- Utilize advanced tools and techniques for interior and furniture design, including knowledge of various software tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, and 3D Max.
- Deep understanding of traditional woodworking processes including carving, structure design, natural polishing, deco painting, and fabric upholstery.
- Manage the production teams at the manufacturing unit in Saharanpur to ensure the quality and timely delivery of products.
- Coordinate with international clients in the UK, Europe, and the US, and present design proposals through professional presentations.
- Develop detailed documentation including design guidelines, technical specifications, and quality control measures.
- Implement and manage design innovation and creative problem-solving to meet client requirements and market trends.
- Ensure that manufacturing meets Healsway's sustainability and quality standards.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align product offerings with market demands.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience as an Interior Designer or Furniture Designer, with a focus on carved wooden furniture.
- Proven expertise in designing luxury furniture and interiors using a wide range of tools and techniques.
- Strong understanding of woodworking processes, including structure carving techniques, natural polishing, and deco painting.
- Experience in fabric and upholstery selection for high-end furniture.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills to liaise with international clients and cross-functional teams.
- Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and management skills to oversee design and manufacturing teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment, demonstrating flexibility, resilience, and a forward-thinking approach.
- Problem-solving skills with a visionary mindset, able to foresee challenges and innovate creative solutions.
- Experience with global client management is highly preferred.
- Willingness to travel extensively between the UK, US, and Saharanpur, India.
