Senior Functional Safety Engineer

AVL is seeking a highly skilled Senior Functional Safety Engineer to join our team. As a central Functional Safety expert, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Functional Safety solutions to our OEM customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Functional Safety strategies and solutions for various automotive projects
  • Lead Functional Safety reviews and ensure compliance with ISO26262 standards
  • Collaborate with system engineers to ensure Functional Safety deliverables meet project requirements
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation actions to ensure safe system operation
  • Develop and maintain Functional Safety documentation, including item definitions, fault-tree analyses, and safety concepts
Requirements:
  • BSc or BEng in Automotive, Electrical, or equivalent Engineering
  • Professional engineering experience in Systems or Safety Engineering
  • Experience leading and delivering Functional Safety activities according to ISO26262
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • English language proficiency (spoken and written)
