About the Role
The Traffic Dispatcher will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of our Depot, ensuring the efficient allocation and routing of vehicles to meet customer needs. This involves managing driver availability, vehicle utilization, and administrative tasks such as payroll and disposal information. The successful candidate will also contribute to ongoing cost control, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize route efficiency and utilize disposal outlets to minimize vehicle usage and maximize productivity.
- Manage driver availability and coverage to ensure compliance with legislation and company procedures.
- Perform administrative duties, including payroll and disposal information input.
- Proactively manage vehicle availability, ensuring drivers complete checks in accordance with company policy.
- Contribute to ongoing cost control, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Ensure all administrative tasks are completed, including time sheets, tachograph records, and payroll records.
- Work with the Depot Manager to deliver mandatory training, induction, and toolbox talks in line with company policy.

- Ability to supervise teams remotely.
- Excellent communication and IT skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work unsupervised.
- Excellent man management skills and ability to contribute to ongoing cost control.
