Advisory Teacher for Children in Care

We are seeking a skilled Advisory Teacher for Children in Care to join our team at the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and London Borough of Wandsworth. As a key member of our Virtual School, you will work closely with social workers, schools, and foster carers to ensure that looked after children receive the support they need to thrive academically.
Your main responsibilities will include developing and implementing Personal Education Plans, monitoring pupil progress, and providing guidance on how to address barriers to learning. With a focus on raising attainment for vulnerable pupils, including those with special educational needs and English as a second language, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve our goal of improving educational outcomes for looked after children.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have Qualified Teacher Status, a degree level 2:2 or above, and extensive experience of working with vulnerable children. A strong understanding of child development, attachment, trauma, and its impact is also essential.
