Oxford Instruments Plc is a leading provider of cutting-edge scientific instruments and solutions, serving the research and industry communities. In this role as Electronics Systems Specialist, you will be part of our team responsible for the design, manufacture, and support of various analytical equipment. Your primary focus will be on providing technical support and training to customers across the Materials Analysis product range.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform onsite installations of analytical systems and software.
  • Provide user orientation training at point of installation.
  • Assist customers in resolving instrument breakdowns.
  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve customer issues.
  • Promote a positive image of Oxford Instruments in all communications.
  • Advise customers on instrumentation options and upgrades to optimize service revenue streams.
  • Maximise support efficiency and customer value using the latest techniques in IoT Telemetry and Augmented Reality.
  • Ensure all customer issues are captured and reported back via the field service management system.


Requirements:

  • Science degree or PhD in Electronics, Physics, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or Chemistry.
  • Knowledge of microanalysis field, particularly EDS/EBSD, Nanomanipulators, or WDS, would be an advantage.
  • Experience of running TEM/SEM would be beneficial.
  • Sound understanding of electronic pc-based systems.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and to tight deadlines.
  • Effective and professional interaction with customers at all levels.
  • Full UK driving license is essential.
