About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Highway Design Engineer to join our team at Moira. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design of highway projects, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with colleagues across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of highway projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Mentor and guide junior engineers to develop their skills and expertise
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple locations to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve our design services
Requirements:
- Chartered engineer with CIWEM, ICE, and/or CIHT
- Minimum of three years' experience in highway design
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Causeway Flow or equivalent design software
- Strong understanding of CIRIA design guides, BRE digest, BS EN752, and Design and Construction Guidance
- Experience with adoptable standards (Section 278, Section 38, and 104)
- Commercial awareness of costing, budgets, and quotations
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Ability to prepare specifications and manage multiple projects
