Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

We're seeking an exceptional Embedded Software Engineer to join our experienced engineering team and contribute to the development of transformative laser communications technology. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining embedded software for our ground stations, ensuring reliable control and autonomous operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop embedded software for monitoring and real-time control of hardware devices
  • Develop reliable, autonomous software that interfaces with cloud services
  • Contribute to the development, integration, testing, and operations of optical ground stations
  • Improve software processes, including developing automated tests
Requirements
  • Implementation and development of hard real-time algorithms and software control systems on embedded platforms
  • Expertise in 'C' and Python development with RTOS (ideally FreeRTOS) and Linux
  • Knowledge of hardware and networking protocols, including I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, EtherCAT, and IP protocols
  • At least 2 years of commercial experience
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with multi-core and FPGA-based systems, especially Xilinx FPGA/MPSoC and associated toolchains (Vivado, Vitis, etc.)
  • IoT and networking protocols (e.g., gRPC, MQTT, ZeroMQ)
  • CI/CD pipelines, GIT version control, scripting, and test automation
  • Yocto Linux/Petalinux build experience
  • UML/SysML, especially with Enterprise Architect
  • Interest and experience in the space industry
