This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people affected by dementia. As a Group Support Volunteer, you will be involved in welcoming and supporting individuals at our group sessions, ensuring they feel comfortable and engaged. Your role will include setting up and tidying away after each session, as well as providing refreshments.
You will work closely with our team to deliver a high-quality service, providing support and encouragement to those living with dementia. This will enable them to meet others in similar situations, access relevant information and support, and participate in meaningful activities.
The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately £24,000-£28,000, dependent on location and experience.
Our volunteer groups operate in Coventry, with sessions taking place at various times throughout the week. We welcome volunteers who are able to commit to a regular schedule and are willing to learn about dementia and its impact.
You should possess excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy when interacting with individuals affected by dementia. Any prior knowledge about dementia is beneficial but not essential.
