Job Title: Chargehand Gardener

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chargehand Gardener to join our Street Care team at Totally Local Company. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our public spaces, including parks, green areas, and highways.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of manual operatives to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Plan and manage workload objectives to meet business targets and deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and adjustments, and report any defects or issues.
  • Perform general maintenance duties, including horticultural operations, grounds maintenance, and cleaning services.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of horticultural practices and environmental services.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Valid driving license and ability to drive a range of vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
