Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Professional to join our team as a Functional Assessor.

As a medical professional, you have a unique opportunity to use your skills and experience in a new way. Our client provides unbiased, comprehensive assessments for claimants of the Governments disability allowance (Personal Independence Payment).

The ideal candidate will be a nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD), occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or paramedic with excellent assessment and communication skills. You will work independently to assess claimants and provide recommendations based on their functional ability.

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough and unbiased assessments of claimants' functional abilities
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with claimants, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders
  • Provide accurate and detailed reports of assessments, including recommendations for benefit entitlement

Requirements:

  • Degree-level qualification in nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, or a related field
  • Current registration with the relevant professional body (e.g. NMC, HCPC)
  • Excellent assessment and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
