Mental Health Occupational Therapists

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust seeks skilled Occupational Therapists to join their Mental Health Services for Older People in Hemel Hempstead.

This varied role offers opportunities for home assessments, multidisciplinary team meetings, taking service users out, service development, training sessions, and more. The position can be offered as a band 6 development opportunity or at a band 6 level for those with the right skills and experience.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop relationships with clients to create tailored treatment plans that cater to their unique needs and abilities.
  • Provide Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions for a specified service user group, manage a caseload as part of a multidisciplinary team, and develop the Occupational Therapy service provision within the setting.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Caseload management in a community setting
  • Supervision of junior and support staff
  • Provision of specialist OT interventions, with supervision and instruction available
  • Recruitment and in-service training/CPD sessions
  • Use of MOHO instruction/training, and involvement in service review opportunities
Person Specification:
  • BSc/MSc/PG Dip Occupational Therapy qualification
  • HCPC registration
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office and associated packages
  • Completion of preceptorship and/or evidence of meeting the full KSF Gateway for Band 5 OTs
  • Evidence of relevant post-graduate training
  • Membership of RCOT, including specialist section
  • First-line management training
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy training
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy training
  • AMPS/ESI/SI training
  • Broad base of clinical experience
Salary and Benefits:

£39,205 - £47,084 per annum, pro rata
