Job Summary:
The Deputy Surgical Ward Manager will be responsible for the management of clinical areas, including assessment of care needs, development, implementation, and evaluation of care programs, and setting standards on a shift basis in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in innovation and evidence-based nursing practice through professional leadership and supporting the clinical team in close liaison with the Sister/Charge Nurse and the Senior Staff Nurse for Quality.
- Take on delegated responsibility for operational and management issues in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse, and lead specific projects as agreed with the Sister/Charge Nurse.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote high-quality patient care and safety.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to identify and address areas for improvement, and implement changes to improve patient outcomes.
- Support the Sister/Charge Nurse in the development and implementation of care plans, and ensure that patient needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
