Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Process Technician to join our Bulk Cheese and Whey team at our Dunmanbridge plant. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient production of quality cheese and whey products.
Key Responsibilities
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety rules and company policies, and report any near misses or incidents to the Shift Manager or Relief.
- Equipment Operation and Monitoring: Oversee the operation of machinery involved in cheese and whey production, ensuring efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods to maintain high standards of product quality.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues promptly and efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including batch records, equipment maintenance logs, and quality assurance documents.
- Sanitation and Hygiene: Ensure compliance with sanitation procedures and hygiene standards to uphold food safety regulations and prevent contamination.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and resolve issues effectively.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and implement best practices in cheese and whey production.
- Training: Embrace all training for the role and be prepared to cross-train within the department to support factory targets.
- Process Optimization: Apply knowledge gained from training sessions to identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction in cheese and whey production operations.
- Other Duties: Undertake any other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors or management, including assisting in inventory management, supporting new product development trials, or participating in facility maintenance tasks.
Requirements
- Education: Good level of general education, with a minimum of 3 GCSEs (including English and Maths) or equivalent.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years' relevant food manufacturing/FMCG experience.
- Technical Skills: A demonstrable technical skill set, including mechanical, electrical/electronic, or mechatronics.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and proficiency in computerized systems.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications
- H&S Experience: Experience or responsibilities in a manufacturing environment related to health and safety.
- Scada Knowledge: Working knowledge of a Scada-based manufacturing plant.
- Cheese or Whey Production Knowledge: Working knowledge of a cheese or whey production process.
