Culinary Team Roles at The Bear Inn
We're seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team as part of our kitchen leadership team. As Sous Chef, you'll play a key role in driving the success of our menu offerings, ensuring high-quality food production, and leading a motivated team of chefs.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our Head Chef to develop new menu concepts and execute daily specials
- Manage kitchen staff rotas, training, and health and safety protocols effectively
- Demonstrate creativity and innovation in menu design and development
- Drive sales growth through effective engagement with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed as our next Sous Chef, you'll need:
- A strong track record of championing excellent service through quality food production
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing junior chefs
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with the head chef and other senior kitchen staff
- Ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently, with a focus on controlling labor costs and maintaining high-quality standards
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and promoting a positive, inclusive team culture
Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a range of benefits, including access to our apprenticeship scheme, free meals, 20% discount in all Young's pubs and hotels, and a share save scheme.
