Galliford Try is seeking a highly experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our Water division, delivering circa £80m to £100m of projects per annum under the Southern Water Strategic Delivery Wastewater Framework Lot 2.
Key Responsibilities- Drive the commercial performance of the Operating Unit, ensuring budgeted financial goals are achieved.
- Develop and implement robust risk management principles.
- Lead the commercial team, focusing on cost control, contract/change management, and maintaining a cash-positive position.
- Work closely with Operational Leads to ensure correct project controls are in place across all disciplines.
- Report regularly to the Regional Commercial Director and Regional Operational Director.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of commercial data, including monthly CVR's and commercial reports.
- Manage change in accordance with the form of contract, including Compensation Event Quotations.
- Prepare and submit monthly applications to the Client, in accordance with the form of contract.
- Manage and motivate the commercial team, ensuring they reach their potential and support their wellbeing.
- Interpret core policies and ensure procedures are adhered to for current legislation, legal, and contractual requirements.
- Relevant degree and/or experience of working in a relevant Commercial environment.
- Strong working knowledge of standard forms of contract, particularly the NEC3/4 suite of Contracts.
- Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Contractual and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Asite, Oracle).
- Solid knowledge of commercial management principles in the construction processes.
- Track record of negotiation and final account settlement.
- CSCS appropriate.
- Expertise with Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
