Job Description

We are seeking an Operational Safety Specialist to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the safe deployment and operation of our autonomous vehicle systems. As an expert in safety engineering, you will be responsible for developing and implementing operational safety strategies and protocols, conducting safety assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate safety features into our platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational safety strategies and protocols for autonomous vehicle systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct safety assessments, including hazard analysis, risk assessments, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), to identify potential safety issues and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and systems engineers, to integrate safety features into autonomous vehicle platforms.
  • Monitor and analyze the operational safety performance of autonomous vehicles in real-world environments, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards such as ISO 26262, SAE J3016, and other relevant industry regulations and best practices.
  • Lead the investigation and root cause analysis of any safety-related incidents, developing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide safety training and guidance to the engineering and operations teams to foster a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Stay current with advancements in autonomous vehicle safety technologies and regulations, applying this knowledge to improve safety protocols and practices.
  • Document safety processes, procedures, and incident reports to ensure thorough and accurate records are maintained.
