Job Description

A dynamic consultancy specialising in health and safety is seeking 4 Senior Fire, Health and Safety consultants.

This home-based role involves working approximately 3 days on client sites and 2 days at home. The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting thorough fire risk assessments of residential and commercial properties, developing fire safety plans, and ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations.

The successful candidate will join a fast-growing, multi-disciplinary consultancy prioritising fire safety, risk management, and overall compliance in residential and commercial buildings. They will be responsible for carrying out comprehensive fire safety assessments, creating and implementing fire safety plans, and providing expert advice to building owners, managers, and developers.

Duties:

  • Carry out thorough fire risk assessments of residential and commercial properties.
  • Develop Fire Safety Plans.
  • Create and implement comprehensive fire safety plans for buildings, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations (such as the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005) and Approved Document B.
  • Conduct General Risk Assessments to identify hazards and propose suitable control measures.
  • Provide Expert Advice and Recommendations.
  • Offer professional advice to building owners, managers, and developers on fire safety, risk management, and health and safety compliance to ensure adherence to legislation and best practice.
  • Prepare and Review Emergency Plans.
  • Assist with Building Regulations Compliance.
  • Perform Site Inspections and Audits.
  • Prepare detailed reports for building owners or managers, ensuring any non-compliance issues are addressed promptly.

Qualifications and Memberships:

The ideal candidate will hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety (minimum) with additional relevant qualifications preferred. They should also have fire safety qualifications and memberships in at least one of the following (AIFireE, MIFireE, GIFireE, MIFSM, MIFPO).

Experience:

The successful candidate will have significant experience in risk assessments within the built environment (residential and/or commercial). They should also have considerable experience of delivering fire risk assessments and general risk assessments. Strong understanding of Approved Document BS 9999/9997 and current UK fire safety regulations is essential.

Package:

A competitive salary of £55,000 - £70,000 per annum (dependent on experience, qualifications, and location) is offered.
