Job Description

Catch22 College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Education Support Specialist to join our team in Maidstone.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and students to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with the implementation of lesson plans and activities, providing feedback and guidance to students as needed.
  • Support students with special educational needs, developing and delivering individualized interventions to promote academic and personal growth.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of student records and files, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to address behavioral and emotional challenges, promoting positive relationships and a safe learning environment.
  • Supervise students during breaks and lunchtimes, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Liaise with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and address any concerns or questions they may have.
Requirements:
  • At least a Level 2 Qualification in English and Maths.
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements for health and safety, special educational needs, and safeguarding of children.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, supporting students and teachers as needed.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs, including those with Education Health Care Plans and complex needs.
  • Determination to raise the levels of achievement of students and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Ability to cope with emotionally demanding situations and provide a high level of emotional support to students.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience working as an Education Support Specialist in an alternative provision environment.
  • Knowledge of curriculum requirements, particularly literacy and numeracy.
  • Evidence of successful work with disaffected and emotionally vulnerable students.
