About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chief of Staff to support our CEO in delivering strategic leadership across North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. This role offers a critical opportunity to shape the future of healthcare for over 900,000 residents across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and South Lincolnshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the CEO in day-to-day operations and long-term planning, ensuring the delivery of the Trust's vision and strategic goals.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the Executive Leadership Team, Non-Executive Directors, and external stakeholders to navigate complex challenges and drive organisational success.
  • Steer and coordinate high-impact projects that align with the Trust's priorities, ensuring successful execution and alignment with local and national healthcare initiatives.
  • Act as a key liaison for the CEO, managing communications and relationships across the wider NHS system, and ensuring consistent, high-quality interaction with all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Masters level qualification or equivalent level of knowledge gained through either formal training and accreditation or acquisition of additional theoretical or conceptual knowledge.
  • Demonstrable experience of building, maintaining and utilising successful partnerships across a range of stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the strategic context of the NHS and wider health and social care environment.
  • Experience of delivery as SRO on large programs of work.
  • Experience of mobilising resources effectively to support complex organisation through significant change.
  • Evidence of successfully handling sensitive situations efficiently and confidentially.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate clinical, operational and support staff.
  • Experience in preparation of management and board level reports.
  • Extensive experience of working at a senior level in a large and complex organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make effective judgements involving highly complex and multistranded facts or situations which require analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options.
  • Excellent communication skills - clarity, persuasiveness, sensitivity, facilitation.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise and judge when issues should be escalated on own behalf and that of CEO and Board.
