Job Title: Area Head of Commercial

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the development of our London office, driving business growth and ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the development of a regional office, including team management and project delivery.
  • Meet measurable turnover and profit targets, driving business growth in line with company objectives.
  • Report to the Managing Director and Directors, providing regular updates on business performance and pipeline.
  • Oversee the management of technically sound and commercial engineering solutions, ensuring client satisfaction and business growth.
  • Deliver major projects, anticipating and pursuing further business opportunities, and taking a proactive role in marketing the business.
  • Liaise and communicate with group peers, representing the company at corporate events and functions.
  • Research, development, and innovation, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of industry trends.
  • Motivate and retain staff, appraising and updating the Directors on market conditions, and raising the profile of the company in the marketplace.
Requirements:
  • Degree educated in an Engineering Discipline with Chartered Engineer status from an industry-recognised body.
  • Strong technical skills, with full awareness of mechanical and electrical building services and the interrelationship of MEP systems with Architecture and structural/civil engineering.
  • Proven background in the industry, with a track record of career progression and project success.
  • Experience of construction projects across various sectors, with a strong understanding of ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills, with a proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong marketing and business development skills, with a strong financial management background.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and low carbon design, with a strong understanding of Planning legislative requirements.
