Job Overview

The Neurovascular Clinical Nurse Specialist role at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals offers a unique opportunity to join a well-established team in the North West Regional Neurosurgical Department. As a key member of the Neurovascular Team, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating the neurovascular pathway for both inpatient and outpatient services.

Main Responsibilities

As a Neurovascular Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the neurovascular pathway for inpatient and outpatient services
  • Working collaboratively with neurosurgery and neuroradiology teams to ensure quality of care
  • Supporting patients and families through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
  • Contributing to the development of clinical guidelines, audit, and staff education
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current NMC registration
  • Mentorship qualification/experience
  • Teaching qualification/experience
  • Post-registration qualifications relevant to the role
Desirable Criteria

While not essential, the following qualifications and experience would be beneficial:

  • Degree qualification
  • Knowledge of neurovascular guidelines and anatomy
  • Post-registration clinical experience in neurosurgery
  • Experience of teaching and assessing in the clinical area
