Job Overview

The North West Regional Neurosurgical Department at Lancashire Teaching Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse to join our well-established Neurovascular Team. As a Neurovascular Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating the neurovascular pathway for both inpatient and outpatient services within this area of expertise.

Main Duties

As a key member of the Neurovascular Team, you will work closely with other clinical colleagues in neurosurgery and neuroradiology to ensure quality care is delivered to patients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating the neurovascular pathway for inpatient and outpatient services
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective decision-making and prompt management of patients
  • Supporting patients and families through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
  • Contributing to the development of clinical guidelines, audit, and staff education

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Current NMC registration
  • Mentorship qualification/experience
  • Teaching qualification/experience
  • Post-registration qualifications relevant to the role

Desirable criteria include a degree qualification and experience of teaching and assessing in the clinical area.
