Structural Steel Design Manager

Futures Manufacturing is seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our team in South Yorkshire. As a key member of our structural steelwork design business, you will be responsible for estimating, planning, and designing steelwork projects from receipt of order to completion on site.
The ideal candidate will have a background in structural steel and a strong understanding of the UK construction market. A recognized Construction or Engineering qualification is essential, and experience with Tekla 3D is a must. You will be commercially minded, with a focus on ensuring bottom-line profitability.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute technical input for tender submissions
- Review tender documentation, including bill of quantities, architectural files, and project specifications
- Attend pre-start, client, and site meetings to obtain handover and transfer of relevant client and technical information
- Carry out design work for new steel structures using Tekla 3D
- Manage design activity to schedule detailing requirements, review/amend BIM models, and coordinate client approval, amendment, and construction issue D&D requests
- Liaise with client teams to schedule delivery and installation
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in structural steel
- HNC qualification in Engineering or Construction
- Experience designing new structural steel projects using Tekla 3D
- Knowledge of project management and experience of being on site an advantage
- Good written and oral skills, with the ability to work closely with other members of teams and clients
