Building Maintenance Mechanic II

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Maintenance Mechanic II to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of all site services, including HVAC, water, temperature controls, and contractors, to prevent interruptions to manufacturing.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Coordinate and schedule service work in line with production requirements, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Database Management: Maintain the Engineering database, ensuring all contractors are compliant and relevant data is uploaded online with system requirements.
- Planned Maintenance: Manage the Planned Maintenance system, BMS, and maintain the equipment database, ensuring all assets are properly maintained and up-to-date.
- Process Improvement: Utilize TPM/Lean tools to continuously improve processes in line with the site's Practical Process Improvement methodology.
- Communication and Supervision: Communicate with internal customers and external contractors, supervise contract work, and ensure safe working procedures are adhered to.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow all health, safety, and environmental rules, policies, procedures, and instructions relevant to working within the company.
- Additional Responsibilities: As part of your employment, you may be required to undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties deemed to be within your capability.
- Qualifications: City & Guilds/BTEC ONC in Mechanical/Facilities Engineering, HNC/HND in Operations or Maintenance (desirable), Electrical proficiency (desirable), and validated experience in facilities maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- IT Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT literacy.
- Personal Qualities: Self-motivated, hard-working, driven, and dedication to continuous improvement.
- Essential Requirements: Participation in an on-call rota and living within 1 hour's commute of the facility, passing a full 5-year employment check and DBS check prior to commencement.
