Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule service work to minimize disruptions to production.
  • Maintain the engineering database, ensuring all contractors are compliant and relevant data is uploaded online.
  • Manage the Planned Maintenance system and equipment database.
  • Implement TPM/Lean tools to improve processes and contribute to the site's Practical Process Improvement methodology.
  • Communicate with internal customers and external contractors, ensuring safe working procedures are followed.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental rules, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • City & Guilds/BTEC ONC in Mechanical/Facilities Engineering.
  • HNC/HND in Operations or Maintenance (desirable).
  • Electrical proficiency (desirable).
  • Validated experience in facilities maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • IT Literacy and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Self-motivation, hard work, and dedication to continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

  • Participation in an on-call rota and living within a 1-hour commute of the facility.
  • Passing a full 5-year employment check and DBS check prior to commencement.
