We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Modern Apprentice to join our Procurement team within NHS Lothian as a Buyer.
About the RoleThe Procurement team purchases a range of products and services for wards and departments across hospital and community sites. As a Buyer, you will work in a fast-paced customer-focused environment, interacting with customers and suppliers on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize your IT skills and experience with Microsoft Excel and Word packages.
- Work in a team to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Develop effective planning and organisational skills.
- Enhance your administrative and IT skills within a busy healthcare environment.
- Understand working in a healthcare environment and establish a rapport with patients and relatives.
- Address equality and diversity needs of patients, relatives, and staff.
- Candidates must be between 16-24 years of age (or the age of 29 if you have a disability or have lived experience of the care system).
- Have gained a National 5 in Mathematics and English plus a National 5 in Skills for Work or equivalent.
- Align to the values and work to these every day.
- Evidence of working as part of a team.
- Passion for working within a healthcare setting and making a real difference in people's lives.
- Commitment to doing your best and completing the Modern Apprenticeship with a positive attitude.
As a Modern Apprentice in NHS Lothian, you will have the opportunity to learn and gain the following:
