Job Description Summary

The Site Buyer UK & Europe is responsible for planning the procurement execution of raw materials, packaging and selected services of the Livingston site for approximately 80% of its time. For the remaining time, the buyer will support the Corporate and European organization with procurement execution tasks. In alignment with the European strategic sourcing team the buyer will have the opportunity to step into tactical sourcing and manage selected low complex vendors.

The Livingston site is the largest site in Elementis Europe, producing chemical specialties for a wide range of end markets such as Coatings and Personal care. The buyer will closely work with all site cross functions as well as with regional and global stakeholders.

**Job Description**:
Though working at a large scale production site, you will work in a small, informal and experienced team with a high diversity. Your contacts outside the plant, will consist of >1000 colleagues as well as many vendors from all over the globe. Every day, you are challenged to not only ensure timely supply at all the right conditions but you are also asked to continuously think long term and outside the box in order to further improve our processes and performance. **Responsibilities**:

- Utilize MRP tools to forecast and anticipate supply needs supporting the demand plan
- Create, maintain and release all yearly PO’s (raws, packaging and selected services).
- Convert requisitions into purchase orders and send them to applicants and/or suppliers.
- Monitor, update and file purchase prices and product specifications.
- Follow up on incoming supplier quality complaints with internal cross functions.
- Assist and support new product developments and changing purchase regulations. Approve/process all the MoCs (Management of Change) for new raw materials and gather all required documentation
- Research and support the development of suppliers for all the demands at the business unit in alignment with the regional team.
- Support Strategic Sourcing Manager to negotiate contracts.
- Autonomously, negotiate selected low complex local suppliers as to reduce acquisition costs while maintaining quality standards
- Register new suppliers under the vendor approval process
- Directly assist in the Import/Export of any materials and services that Elementis Global needs.
- On request, generate and support the analysis of reports as to support strategic sourcing decision.
- Perform other tasks compatible with the requirements for the exercise of the function.

- Work using PPE when necessary for outside activity.

Experience : 5+ years’ buyer experience at a chemical manufacturing site and within a multinational production environment is a must.

Language Skills: Verbal and written fluency in English language for business use.

Travel: Ad hoc based and up to maximum 5% of time

Working arrangements: 4 days on the site in Livingston
