About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trading Standards Officer to join our team at Shared Services Partnership. As a key member of our Public Protection and Licensing service, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our residents, businesses, and visitors enjoy a clean, safe, and quiet city.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and enforce trading standards policies, using your technical skills and knowledge to protect consumers and businesses by promoting a safe and fair-trading environment. You will offer advice on relevant laws and rights in relation to the buying, selling, renting, and hiring of goods and services.

Visiting trading premises to ensure compliance with legislation and investigating complaints from the public, you will take the appropriate enforcement action. You will also offer advice and give talks at public events, meetings, and exhibitions, compiling reports, statements, articles, and consultation documents, and maintaining accurate records.

We are looking for a diplomatic and collaborative team worker who can work independently, possessing both assertiveness and tact. You will ensure that our people represent the communities they serve and that the workplace is supportive, collaborative, and respectful.
