Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Wireless Test Technician to join our team at TÜV SÜD. As a key member of our Wireless Test team, you will be responsible for performing RF testing on a wide range of IoT wireless technologies, including WLAN 802.11, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Cellular (GSM / W-CDMA / LTE / 5G NR), SRD 433/868MHz, VHF, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform RF testing on wireless products to various test standards, including ETSI and FCC, in our wireless test labs and at customer premises.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and defined test plans.
  • Accurately record test results using electronic logbook systems and produce test reports in accordance with company quality procedures.
  • Work with customers during attended testing and provide close liaison with the Project Manager to ensure work is carried out accurately and within timescales.
  • Develop test methods and other departmental documentation.

Requirements

  • Education to Level 3 in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience of using RF test equipment, such as spectrum/network analyser, oscilloscope, signal generator, RF power meter, etc.
  • Good understanding of analogue and digital communications technologies.
  • IT proficiency with ability to use bespoke software and Microsoft packages, including Windows, Word, and Outlook.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow concise processes.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn.
  • Flexible approach to work, willing to work overtime, shift-work, or on customer sites when required.
  • Ability to deliver work independently or as a team to defined deadlines.
  • Conscientious with good interpersonal, customer skills, and commercial awareness.
  • Proven ability to document results accurately.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience gained in performing RF accredited testing on Wireless technologies.
