About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team at Manor Court care home in Southall. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the care home remains functional and safe for our residents and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repair tasks to a high standard, with minimal disruption to our residents and visitors.
  • Contribute to the management of the maintenance budget, taking the lead as appropriate.
  • Perform ad-hoc internal decoration of all accessible areas, ensuring a high standard of finish.
  • Report unrepairable defects to management, escalating or seeking specialist repair if required.
  • Ensure all health and safety and compliance checks are carried out to deadlines, and all policies and guidelines are adhered to at all times.

Requirements

  • A full driving licence is essential for this role.
  • You hold a building/electrical/plumbing qualification or have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a property maintenance or general repairs role.
  • Previous experience in a site management role and experience managing consultants, contractors, and contracted suppliers would be advantageous.
  • Friendly and approachable, you'll have a good understanding of building services, including heating, hot and cold-water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution, and plumbing.
  • You understand the importance of maintaining high standards and have knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and compliance.
  • You can work flexibly to meet demands and are always happy to help the wider team.
