We are seeking a Policy Specialist to join our Health and Social Care Spending Team at HM Treasury. The successful candidate will work on capital spending, including the maintenance and improvement of the NHS estate, the New Hospitals Programme, and investment to support social care.

About the Role

The Policy Specialist will advise Ministers and senior officials on key issues relating to government spending on health. This includes providing high-quality advice and briefing on infrastructure, health diagnostics transformation, and long-term health capital budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice to Ministers and senior officials on health spending policy
  • Work on capital spending projects, including the NHS estate and New Hospitals Programme
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders across government and the NHS

About the Team

The Health and Social Care Spending Team is responsible for HM Treasury's oversight of over £190 billion of annual government spending in health and adult social care.
