Job Title: Landscape and Forestry Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Landscape and Forestry Officer to join our team at West Oxfordshire District Council. As a key member of our environmental service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality landscape and green infrastructure advice to support the council's ambition for a sustainable future.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on landscape and green infrastructure matters, including planning proposals and allocations and policies in the Local Plan. You will work closely with stakeholders, including the Cotswold National Landscape Board, developers, and local communities, to create sustainable and positive outcomes across the area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality landscape and green infrastructure advice to support the council's environmental priorities
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable landscape and green infrastructure solutions
  • Contribute to the development of policies and strategies to protect and enhance the district's valuable landscapes
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver projects and initiatives that promote environmental sustainability
Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • High level of knowledge and experience of landscape and green infrastructure
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
