We are seeking a highly skilled AI Genomics Research Scientist to join our team at Illumina. As a pioneer in genomic technology, we enable life-changing discoveries that transform human health through early disease detection and diagnosis.

The ideal candidate will possess expert knowledge in deep learning, statistics, and genomics, with strong communication skills to present complex scientific ideas to clinical, scientific, and industry audiences.

The role involves leading the development of novel algorithms for deciphering the human genetic code, diagnosing pathogenic genetic variants by combining information from detailed clinical phenotypes and medical records and genomic data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cutting-edge deep learning algorithms for genomic data analysis.
  • Collaborate with Illumina's academic, nonprofit, and industry partners to advance our research goals.
  • Publish and disseminate research findings in top-tier journals.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate new methods into software products.

Requirements:

  • PhD in computer science, genetics, computational biology, or related field.
  • Proven track record of successful delivery of complex scientific projects under tight timelines.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Estimated Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
