Job Description:

The Global Insurance Manager role at Arcadis supports the current Global Insurance Director based in the UK. This position is responsible for procuring and maintaining global insurance programs, overseeing local insurance programs, and protecting the Arcadis group against identified, insurable risks. The role involves supporting the setup and maintenance of the Insurance function and programs, operating the captive cell insurance company, and reporting to the Global Insurance Director as part of the Finance team.

The Global Insurance Manager will support the procurement and maintenance of global insurance programs and local policies where required, as per the insurance policies and procedures. This includes designing, establishing, and maintaining compulsory global insurance programs, such as professional indemnity, general/third-party liability, cyber, directors & officers liability, crime, and travel insurance, at the best possible terms and conditions. The Global Insurance Director will continuously analyze changes in the business and insurance markets to ensure the insurance coverage is sufficient or amended at the best possible terms and conditions.

The Global Insurance function works closely with the Global legal function and local legal counsels on insurance claims handling, the Global Risk Management function to ensure standardized risk management practices are embedded in business operations, and the finance functions around the group on budgets, premium allocations, processing insurance invoices, and monitoring thereof. Further collaboration is required with various colleagues in project bidding and execution, Treasury, Accounting, and Tax.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the management of brokers on global insurance program renewals at the best possible terms and conditions.
  • Assist with the collection of renewal data, including the completion of proposal forms and update of underwriting presentations.
  • Prepare premium allocations on all global policies.
  • Verify and monitor invoices, including raising purchase orders.
  • Ensure accurate records of all policies globally to enable management information on spending by insurers and other metrics.
  • Directly manage UK and NL policies, including motor, CAR, property, art, and personal accident insurance.
  • Oversight/monitoring of remaining locally placed policies.
  • Create budgets following input from brokers and prepare bi-annual summaries for regional CFOs.
  • Respond promptly to insurance queries on all matters, from coverage questions to issuance of certificates.
  • Develop and maintain an insurance intranet page to ensure resources are relevant and up to date.
  • Regularly monitor claims between the fronting insurer and captive cell to ensure records are accurate, including monitoring of annual aggregates.
  • Deputize for the Global Insurance Director when not available and perform additional tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in corporate insurance, either as an Insurance Manager or broker.
  • Knowledge of the corporate insurance market, its dynamics, and players.
  • Strong communication skills, maintaining contacts with internal and external parties.
  • Strong Excel skills, particularly for premium allocations.
  • A no-nonsense, proactive team player.
  • A flexible mentality and service-oriented mindset.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal; Dutch speaking is an advantage.
  • Relevant insurance certificates (ACII Assurantie A, relevant WFT level, RIMAP) are desired.
