MBS Lighting UK Limited is seeking a skilled Equipment Technician to join our team. As an Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and testing of lighting, rigging, and other supporting rental assets to ensure the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform portable appliance testing (PAT) of all portable electrical equipment.
  • Ensure all shortages are reported to equipment coordinators in a timely manner.
  • Conduct electrical and/or mechanical function tests on all rental assets upon return from hire as per procedures.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of equipment on the inventory management system and in the correct physical location.
  • Route equipment for dispatch to the correct bay at the correct time as per Equipment Coordinator's and operational Manager's requests.
  • Perform minor maintenance of equipment as per procedures.
  • Report damages to the relevant Department Supervisor for repair procedures.
  • Drive the pace of testing to ensure sufficient assets are maintained at a 'ready to rent' status at all times.
  • Liaise with external cleaning and repair contractors, including checking items in and out of the repair ticket system.
  • Supervise trainee technicians and apprentices to ensure safety and quality during training periods.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workstation and department area.
  • Liaise with Department Supervisors, Equipment Manager, and inventory teams to ensure correct stock levels.
  • Liaise with operational staff and management to meet business needs.
Asset Management, Storage & Quality Control
  • Handle equipment safely and efficiently at all times.
  • Prepare and test equipment in line with company procedures and policies, as well as relevant legislation.
  • Escalate any areas of concern relating to inventory and asset control to the Department Supervisor.
  • Achieve and sustain the highest standards of service levels in relation to quality of equipment and service delivery.
  • Complete and ensure all company procedures are followed in relation to QC checks and scanning controls.
Health & Safety
  • Demonstrate a commitment to achieving a culture of safety at all times.
  • Ensure all health and safety policies are followed, including manual handling, use of mechanical handling equipment, and safe storage of equipment.
  • Maintain clear pedestrian and evacuation routes through the warehouse and external areas.
  • Escalate areas of concern through the correct channels.
Essential Skills
  • Driven to achieve and maintain the highest quality and service standards.
  • IT literate with the ability to learn in-house asset management systems.
  • Positive approach to the company while reacting to high business demands.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Adaptable and willingness to learn.
  • Flexible to work overtime and occasional weekends as business needs require.
Working Hours

Shift: 10:00pm - 7:00am
