Transport Planner Job Description

Our client, a leading transportation company, is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their team in Nottinghamshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating transportation operations to ensure efficient and safe delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement transportation plans to meet customer demands and company KPIs
  • Manage vehicle resources and driver schedules to optimize routes and reduce costs
  • Monitor and report on safety concerns, accidents, and incidents
  • Collaborate with fleet management to ensure effective vehicle resources are available
  • Supervise daily vehicle checks and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Plan and mobilize resources to meet customer needs, often to strict deadlines
  • Monitor service levels and suggest corrective action to improve performance
  • Support the optimization of resources and review operations to improve profitability and customer service
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety within the transport industry
  • Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills
  • Team player with high level of customer service
  • Highly organized with ability to work independently
  • PC literate
