About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head and Neck Cancer Consultant to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with head and neck cancer.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of head and neck cancer patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy
  • Conduct research and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
Requirements
  • Completion of Specialty Training (CST or equivalent) or within 6 months of achieving it in relevant specialty
  • Surgeon with experience in the da Vinci system
  • Full registration with General Medical Council
  • MD, PhD or other higher degree
  • Education / Medical Education Qualification (preferably at Masters level)
Skills and Qualities
  • Robotic surgery for precise operations such as Head and Neck cancer
  • Transoral robotic surgery (TORS)
  • Open surgery, minimally invasive surgical and Transoral techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
