Job Title: Associate Gemmology Instructor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Gemmology Instructor to join our team at the Gemological Institute of America. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality educational content to students in our On-Campus Gemmology Programs and Lab classes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver GIA-approved course material consistent with our standards and content integrity.
  • Instruct students in the use of gemmological equipment, including microscopes, spectrometers, and other materials.
  • Demonstrate expertise in gemmology and GIA Education operations.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment.
  • Address student concerns and issues promptly and effectively.
  • Counsel students on academic performance and methods for improvement.
  • Liaise with GIA London Management and other Education staff as needed.
  • Participate in Education meetings and training as required.
  • Proctor tests and receive, correct, and process student assignments.
  • Submit final student grades to Student Services according to schedule.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Three years of related practical gem/jewellery experience required.
  • GIA Graduate Gemologist qualification required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of relevant software applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Multilingual candidates fluent in one or more European languages preferred.
