Job Title: Health and Safety Officer/Advisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Officer/Advisor to join our team at People Group. As a key member of our data centre operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, contractors, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures specific to data centre operations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards within the data centre environment.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations, as well as industry standards.
  • Lead investigations into any safety incidents or near misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Organize and conduct H&S training sessions for staff, contractors, and visitors to ensure they understand and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including fire safety, evacuation procedures, and first aid.
  • Stay updated with the latest H&S regulations and best practices, continuously improving safety measures and protocols.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within a data centre or similar technical environment.
  • Experience working as a TWC.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certification in health and safety, TWC.
  • Strong understanding of safety management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and emergency response planning in a high-tech environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with data centre operations, including power management, cooling systems, and IT infrastructure, is an advantage.
