Job Summary

Ravensworth Surgery is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered General Nurse to join our team. As a Practice Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and services to our patients. You will work collaboratively with other members of the general practice team to meet the needs of our patients and provide a comprehensive range of services, including immunisations, screening, opportunistic consultations, chronic disease reviews, ear care, wound management, health promotion, and contraceptive advice/review.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care and services to our patients
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the general practice team to meet the needs of our patients
  • Provide a comprehensive range of services, including immunisations, screening, opportunistic consultations, chronic disease reviews, ear care, wound management, health promotion, and contraceptive advice/review
  • Implement and lead on a full range of promotion and management of health and safety and infection control
  • Support the equality, diversity, and rights of patients, carers, and colleagues
  • Participate in any training programme implemented by the practice as part of this employment

Person Specification

  • Essential
  • Registered General Nurse with full PRACTICE NURSE training and experience
  • Recognised qualification to diploma level of above and trained up and experienced in Primary care practice nursing
  • Full driving license and own transport
  • Competent in basic nursing duties
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of chronic disease management and NHS screening programmes
  • Enthusiasm to develop nursing skills
  • Understanding and adherence to strict confidentiality
  • Ability to manage workload priorities
  • Able to work in a changing environment and adapt with this
  • Able to take on new challenges
  • Able to use own initiative within personal competency
  • Able to work in a busy environment and as part of a team
  • Flexibility in working hours to cover sickness/holidays as required
